All-West auditions are January 9 at the University School in Jackson, TN. Those that make the All-West TN Band will attend a three day clinic on Jan. 28-30 at the Cannon Center in downtown Memphis. This is the highest honor that a band member can achieve. This is the first step to major scholarship money in the future as colleges seek out All-West members for their schools. Auditions consist of prepared music, chromatic and major scales (they will ask you two of the twelve - please work on scales in multiple octaves and they must be memorized), and be prepared to sight read. The All-West TN audition music has been given out in class and is downloadable below. The Appling Honor Band audition music is the same as the All-West music (only narrowed down closer to auditions), but all honor band members will be required to audition for All-West because you must know the music anyway and this is a good experience.
